Hi all,
This goes out to everyone who likes to train, wants to train but due to schedules, family comittments and other such reasons can't get to a gym 2,4,6 times a week.
There is a weightless workout routine on the Navy Seals website.
It is the training they use for there BUD/S recruits. (seals) The only weight you need is your own body weight. It is a progressive program.
I have been competitive in bodybuilding, adventure racing, and other physically challenging sports as well as the combat challenge. This routine has given me quicker, more effective results and its only 3 days a week. You can do more with there cardio routine if you wish. I have become stronger, increased my muscular endurance, definition, and size. I have also become leaner and I have more energy and we can all use more energy. I also can work longer on the fireground without getting as tired which in the end is safer for us all.
It does take some fishing to find the routine, its under archived info on the main page. Anyway give it a shot.
Stay safe.

hey hotfire... I'd love to take a look at this routine, but I can't seem to find it. Can you do a link to it here?

Thanks! Sue :)

That looks tough.... looks like something to work towards.. I've got the run, the swim, the pushups and the situps, but those pullups are my nemesis.... I can do two... but I can blame that on a nagging shoulder injury (that's my story and I'm sticking to it)!

Thanks for posting the link!

Sue :)

I drink beer at the start the bottles are heavy and at the end they are light...... so then a start all over again..... i find a twenty four is a great work out and on the off days a six pack is enough to keep you tight and fit........

as i am sure you hate running too another great alternate rather then running straight is do it in spurts.... start off a brisk was for 1 minute and the next do a fast run for a minute then keep repeating for 30 min..... u will sweat like there is no tomorrow. i found it was a good change and didn't bore me as quick.

You'll actually burn more calories and increase your cardio doing this. We do them alot for soccer and we call them "wind-sprints". You'll find better results from doing your running this way then just plain old jogging. They increase your heart-rate very rapidly though, and should be monitored closely.

It's anaerobic training, and it's a real good way to do it too.
