It is with great sadness, that I share with you all, the passing of Napanee Fire Chief George Hanmore. I spent several years working with George, as firefighters with both Kingston Township Fire and DND Fire. Condolences to Judi, Corey, Krissi, and families. I will post arrangements when finalized.RIP

The Kingston Whig Standard, is reporting that Chief Hanmore's Memorial Service will take place at Wartman's Funeral Home in Napanee, Thursday May 6, 2010 at 11:30am. With internment at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens in Glenburnie.

The muster point is the firehall at 66 Advance St. at 10 AM.

There will be a 10 minute march to the funeral home. The internment in Glenburnie is private.

Parade Marshall briefing will be at 1045. I will be the parade marshall.

I was privileged to be part of the Fire Service that marched yesterday to honor Chief Hanmore. Rest easy George.

BTW...Rescue 78 did a beautiful job as Parade Marshal.

I served with George as a co-op student after Pre-Service for 2 months, straight days, at Napanee Fire in June 2007. George gave me the opportunity to live my dream... a letter of reference for employment... and a great first impression to the fire service...
