EDMONTON - Medal of bravery winner Robert Cardinal died in hospital Saturday, 21/2 years after being badly burned while searching for his young nephew in a blazing apartment. The 34-year-old man had been in hospital since the incident in April 2001 and was unable to travel to Ottawa on Sept. 12 to receive the Governor General's Medal of Bravery.
