Hello there.....I have been browsing the site for awhile and wanted to say hi. I am a career firefighter from B.C. Just a little over a year on the job. Previously was a volunteer for a small town dept. in the area.

Hey, new here as well! I never scroll down this far.

Very cool place you have here, lots to learn.

I'm from Southern Ont. I just applied to Markham, I have not applied to a department in 13 years. I was 20 then and apparently way to young. Who said there were no second chances.:)

Any thoughts of moving to Ottawa? They're doing another recruitment starting in the Spring? Ottawa (http://www.city.ottawa.on.ca/inside_govt/careers/fire/9_3_en.shtml)
There was no recruitment last year, so those who apply this year will be alone on the list. I'm going to apply again incase my list expires this December and I'm still on it! Good luck with Markham... see you there! :)
