This would be directed to those who are CF FF's or have knowledge about it.
I recently put my application in for CF FF and I totally forgot to ask, how does the CF help those with families?
i.e. moving, proximity, housing, work schedules, etc.
thank you

I can answer some of this as a member of the CF, not a firefighter though.
Moving- Once all your training is complete, the CF will pay for your family and effects to be moved from where they are living to your new base. Some people bring their family to Borden, but I would suggest against it. While it would be nice to have them there, it also can make it harder to concentrate on your course.
Housing- Most bases will have PMQ's which range in size, attached or detached etc. You can also go buy your own home if you want.
Work Schedule- While I'm not a FF, I would imagine you work when your platoon is on unless you are on annual leave, training or some other task that may keep you away from normal shift.
All bases also have a Military Family Resource Center which will provide info about programs for your family like daycare, kids programs and many other things.
