Bombers fight small Malahat forest fire

Plumes of smoke rose over an isolated area on the Malahat Monday as B.C. Forest Service crews worked to bring a wildfire under control. The incident points to continuing dry conditions, said Starr Munro of the Coastal Fire Centre. "The fact that we're still having fires goes to show how dry it is and that people have to continue to use caution. The south Island has been fairly dry and has ranged moderate to high (fire-hazard rating) over the last few weeks."
