CAMROSE, AB — It’s still early but all indications are that the third annual Camrose and District Victim Services Charity Auction was a success. This year, 13 firefighters (plus one mascot} from Camrose, Hay Lakes, Edberg and New Norway agreed to volunteer one hour of their time to the highest bidder. Aaron Sellin, drew the highest bid garnering $1,250 for the Victim Services Unit, while the first firefighter on the auction block, Allan King will be featured on air with Jackie Rae Greening during her morning show after fetching $500.
Darla Joudrey, chair of the local unit, said while the event raised about $10,000, “I think everyone had a great time and enjoyed themselves. The community has been very generous.”
