What is the worst thing you did while in Battle Gear?
For me, I think it was during a parade. A women was that I knew was there with her kid and asked where the candy was. I pointed back to the next truck with the Lt. and said the next truck!! Its ok, cause I knew the person!!

Okay blast from the past. My old department - way before I was on... Late 70's when the department was first established. Things were different back then.
Picture my home town with the fire hall across the street from the bar. One night after a drill the guys looked across the street and spot a native gentlemen passed out on the grass. Someone calls the RCMP to pick him up. A couple of the other guys charge an 1.5 inch line and proceed to douse the poor guy. Just as they are putting the hose back in the bed the RCMP drive up. He looks at the soaked guy, looks at the open firehall door with the guys looking back with a bit of a guilty look. The only words out of the RCMP's mouth was "YOU BASTARDS". He then proceeded to load him in the back of the car and drive off.
The oldtimers are still telling that story back home. Nasty.

Use to have a problem with junkies shooting up near our vehicles behind 2 hall. Asked numerous times to move. Did not comply. Solution.....1 bucket of water and 1 bag of flour......BC...

heh..
Why is it that there's always a bar or beer store within a door or two of a fire hall?
We have the liquor store across the street from ours.......
I was out taking pictures of the various trucks from around the county durring the community fire prevention parade to use for various things (there were about 50-60 of the trucks and retired trucks from all the different departments....)
All with the backdrop of the LCBO.
I started lookin at them on my computer and was kinda miffed that I didn't notice it.....

We were at a big bale fire and things were winding down, we were kind of in that stand around mode. I got bored so I turned on the theft alarm on the fire truck, so the next guy that stepped on the brake set the alarm off. Man was he pissed...we almost got into a fight...I thought it was pretty funny thought (sore loser)
:D

Yeah, it came on the truck when we bought it new from Summit Fire out of Winnipeg (Headingly). Apparently they were having a hell of a time, at that time, with people driving away with their fire trucks.
