A two-alarm fire in northeast Calgary sent smoke pouring into the sky Friday. Several explosions created challenges for firefighters, but everyone managed to escape the inferno safely. Flames broke out at Van Mason Painting and Sandblasting on Moraine Road northeast, only a few hundred metres from Global Television's studio early Friday afternoon.
