Fire in a three-storey apartment building in St. Laurent caused residents to climb out windows to safety, taking with them whatever possessions they could. The four-alarm fire broke out on the first floor of the building shortly after 8:30 a.m. yesterday. Thick smoke quickly filled the 20-unit building at Édouard Laurin Blvd. and Crevier Ave., causing at least four residents, including Ounassar Khadija, to seek help from firefighters who used ladders to get them out.
