Heard through the Firefighter Telegraph that Orillia FD settled for $69,000 for first class FF's. Can't believe it myself, but who's heard anything different?

Now if they could only hire a few more firefighters . Does anyone know if they hired any more after the Fire Marshal's office declared their fire protection inadequate?

As of last summer they hadnt,I was at the college with a couple of their volunteers they were hoping that something would happen.They expressed a genuine concern that the career side was dangerously understaffed.

We heard the same rumour at work this last shift.

Red....we were due at the end of 2003.....nothing in the near future either. Our Guys are watching our neighbors to the east(Markham). They're supposed to be close to settleing, however, like everything else it's just a rumour until the ink is dry.

dentedhead what course did you take at the OFC, took several myself with guys from Orilla.. 69 thous, not bad hope its true for everyone's sake....

I'll have to check but at the end of 2006 (our current contract) a First class FF is just under 70 thousand........BC.....

Wilderness I did the flashover course,I cant member the month. I think it was July It was a really hot weekend anyways.One of the Orillia guys looked like Paul Bernardo,yeah that Paul Bernardo.

I heard it confirmed today by our assn.guys that they did get that settlement.
