Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows what it takes to get qualifications in NewYork State if you already got EMCA here in Canada?

Almost impossible. To be honest its probably easier just to retake teir 130 hour EMT course. Lots of places there offer it over a couple of weeks. Or contact somewhere that is running a refresher and see if you can jump in and challenge it. The refreshers have the NYS EMT exam at the end of it.

Because of how the levels line up you're probably SOL. EMT-B is WAY less than Ontario PCP and is more akin to EMR in both time and scope. You may be able to get reciprocity for that, but my understanding is that even if you can find a paid position in NYS, as an EMT-B be prepared to make peanuts. While the length of education for PCP meets or exceeds many EMT-P programs south of the border, the material covered would not be sufficient in scope to challenge an EMT-P license.
