May the majority rule! Is general chat the place for any topic, or should it be strictly fire/ems related issues??

Kind of a self explanatory title for the section is it not? General Chat.
Lotsa places for the fire/ems specific stuff up above. Yeah, it spills over from one thread to another from time to time, but if it didn't False Alarm and Web Chief would be SOOOOOO bored.
A general discussion thread is just fine, IMHO

Anything within reason has to fit here! It allows all of us a small chance to get to know who we are conversing with. There is more to a "fire hall" than fires and EMS and this would seem a good place to deal with all of that stuff. I'm with ya so far....anything goes.;)

Trouble maker! ;)
I'm glad to have this section... humor always lightens the mood... or so I thought! hahaha! There's a time and a place of course... and I thought this was the place!
Besides DFC's right, we couldn't let the Chief and the Boss get bored!!! hahaha!

It is nice to let loose with the goofy side, that is what general chat is for, I believe anyway.

I don't use the "u"s anymore either.... I think I've become Americanized! hahaha!!! I just asked my daughter to spell color, humor and favorite... she used a U in the first two and not favorite... funny!

Don't worry TFW, I was chucklin with ya. I have fairly broad shoulders, especially when it comes to ribbing!:p
Although I do have to mention that there are a few on this board that have gotten down right ignorant...hopefully they will realize they have crossed the fine line and stop being rude!!
Although I have to admit, if knuclehead is a term of endearment...
then my wife must be absolutely crazy about me:confused:
have a good one

Nothing in German sounds flattering, its a very forceful/guteral language. She might be telling you that you are the nicest man in the world.

I rarely talk about most of my work. I deal alot with the rotton side of people. So yes! When I come on here I am "mindless" and "silly". After all those are just as important to doing a job as reading the many excellant threads that are serious. I enjoy reading those as well. But there is alot to be said for mental health and a safe place to express ones self.
Keep it light!

Forgot to say that I agree that knucklehead is an endearment. Having grown up with German and Finish grandparents I attest to the fact that nothing ever sounds nice in those langages. Now then Spanish and French can make most anything sound good. I'm glad I just speak English.

They're just arrows pointing to the reply above, rather than using the all too easy "Quote" feature. :D
