I'm a rookie at hall1 and I took that test last September. The test is written by the same people that created the material, so it's a pretty much verbatim from the cd. I can't really give you any hints because the test covers the whole disc. The test was about 150-200 questions and alot of people were scoring 90% and above. If you study the material hard you'll do fine. I didn't have my 1001's or any relevant experience so I had to teach it all to myself, but I still scored 93%. Nobody failed the test while I was there, so I wouldn't stress it too much, but just make sure that you study hard. If you do, you'll do just fine. Good luck.

Hope this helps Millsy

That does help me out. Thanks a lot. I will spend a lot of time studying the disc then and less on the Essentials text. I've got my Level 2 so it shouldn't all be new, but I was looking through it and some of the sections contain info. that I have never seen before that isn't contained in the Essentials text. ANyways I appreciate your time and hope to meet you all soon. Thanks FB222 and thank your Rookie for me please.

The info on the disc is different than the IFSTA manual, and the questions are based on the disc material. If you know the stuff on the Essentials , it will help you understand the disc though. Just yesterday I was talking to one of the training officers about my 6 month and 1 year exam. I asked if I could just take one of the Essentials books home to study off of and he told me not to, just to focus on the disc as their is different material on the disc. Let me know if you any other questions.

Great, I will focus on the CD. How do you find it so far? How was the training, pretty intense or was it pretty enjoyable? I went to the Emergency Services COllege in Brandon, Manitoba and took the 32 week Public Fire Paramedic program. I found it to be intense but really fun at the same time. I'm guessing thats how the 12 week training would be. Met some really good guys who became really close friends. Is that how your training was or was it different? I mentioned to Bob I was kind of concerned about finding living accomodations. Were you from Edmonton originally or did you move there like I will be? What did the guys who moved into town do? Did any of the single guys end up shacking up together??

The disk is given to you during the recruitment process to help you study and prepare for the 1001 knowlege threshold test.

I heard possibly August, depending on how many guys they put through. If the class is 16 -20 then hi 120's would be the class after, probably March. If they decide on 30 guys for August then the list would be close to done. You on the list Duhrynchuk??
