Hello,

I am starting the paramedic program at Fleming college in a month. I am really excited and looking forward to it.

I was wondering if I will get emr certification in the program after first or second semester. I ask this because I know the ore service firefighter students at Fleming get emr certification at the college. I know that the aemca is mountains above emr certification but the emr would still be a bonus for obtaining summer employment.

If anyone has taken a pcp program in Ontario and can answer this for me, please do so.

No you don't get a EMR. EMR is for those special people in the fire program that think once they have this are now equal to paramedics. If you graduate, and pass the ontario provincial exam you will receive AEMCA that is superior to any first aid type course. Also, once you have this you will never have to do a first aid course again. AEMCA is good for life and supersedes any first aid course. You will only have to re-cert your CPR every year.
