Blood Donors

Just wondering how many of the members of the forum have donated blood, or are regular blood donors. I made my 67th donation today !!

I typically donate once a year....its on the same date every year too.....my birthday. I started doing it about 6 years ago as a way to celebrate my birthday by giving life to somone who may need it

I try to go all the time when there is a clinic. Unless I am working or sick.

Nope, sorry...I only have 3 things in life that creep me out...giving blood, having something impailed in my eye, and drowning in the middle of the ocean:confused: :( Don't feel guilty, because i would give the shirt off my back for just about anything else in life.

Sure do ... also something to consider is becoming an "unrelated bone marrow donor". It's done through Canadian Blood Services and can be researched at bloodservices.ca
I'm on the donor list, and will donate at the drop of a hat to give someone a new lease on life.

We have a Blood drive each year. We have a competition with Vancouver Police and BC Ambulance to see who can donate the most blood. We are defending champs!!...:D ...BC...

When I lived in Winnipeg, I used to give blood 3 times a year. Have only given about 3 times in the past 20 , as the Red Cross quit doing mobile clinics. Cdn. Blood Svces doesn't do many either. So I kinda got out of the habit. Should get back into doing it though.

I have given blood 74 times now. My goal is to reach 100! This is pretty good for someone that HATES!!!! needles.

It is a good think that blood regenerates or it be you that be getting it!!:p

Good job guys...I'm up over 50 myself. I remember the first time I did it...passed out cold. When I came too there were some sweet nurses reviving me. That was enough for me to get hooked!!!
Oh yeah, and around # 30 or 40....I choked on an Oreo cookie in the relaxing area...had to have the Heimlick manouver done on me. Never a dull moment.
