Hey guys, I just have a few questions about oilfield firefighting. First of all does anyone live out of town? I am living in ontario right now and I was thinking about doing the commute, would it be worth it?

Second, does Oil Field fire help with getting on with the city?

Third, do all companies make you do shop work or could I do only field work.

Lastly, what oil companies would you recommend. HSE, Fire power, fire master, Bravo, Saftey boss, etc

Thanks for your advice.

-Move to where your working, No safety companies pay enough to live in Ontario and fly out. Besides you will want to be around if they need you to go to a blowout, seeing as thats the only exciting part of your job.
-As boring as oilfield firefighting is it will deffinately help you get on with a city department.
-Unless you just work for a joke of a company you will be getting a ton of work doing fire, air/safety and if you have the tickets medical work. Spring break up isnt very busy so you might see more shop time then.
-If you get on with any of the ones you listed be happy with it. They pay fairly for what you do and treat you fairly well. Besides the rare chance you get to go on a blow out prepare for months of boredom chasing fracs.

Hope any of this helped, feel free to ask any more questions you have. I know quite a few companies that are screaming for guys.
