How long do other departments keep crews together before your transferred out? I was just at a station for 5.5 years, and most of the guys in that station have been together with me for at least 3.5 years. After that long, as you already know, you tend to become quite a family.With our department, your never in one place for very long, so 5.5 years was a long time. If a crew has good chemistry, than why break them up?

you should know this answer,,you can never be happy..management won't have it...well at least it seems to work that way here, so keep quiet and never let on how much fun your having...

More of a Union topic I would think but on our job if you can fly under the radar for a bit you can stick at a hall for a while, 5+ years, if not usually move 3-4 years on average. And ya, never let on that your happy or your ass is as good as transfered....BC...
