HAVELOCK-BELMONT-METHUEN, ON - The municipality took delivery of a new 2005 Ford mini pumper this week, a vehicle that will provide the Cordova Fire Station with enhanced first-response capacity.

The new $217,000 pumper truck, built by Asphodel Fire Trucks, will replace a 1994 Rescue 2 vehicle, said Fire Chief Ray Hubble. The new pumper, which can carry five people, comes with a 225-gallon water tank and a foam system. It is also equipped with medical, extrication and forestry equipment, making it a combined firefighting and emergency rescue vehicle.

The new vehicle is 26 feet long, “It has the same capabilities as a full-size pumper, but it is designed for cottage roads,” McNiece said.
