An armoured-car guard is being called a hero after pulling an unconscious man from a fire yesterday afternoon. Richard Long, a guard with Securicor Canada, was just starting work about 3 p.m. yesterday when he noticed smoke billowing from a second-floor suite at 596 Selkirk Ave. Police say Long -- a former firefighter with the Canadian military --quickly sprang into action, calling 911 before crawling into the fire on his hands and knees in search of victims. "I went in and was able to find a guy," Long told The Sun last night. "When I first grabbed onto his arm his skin just fell off because it was burned."
