I've been done school for a while and i'm out looking and applying to some depts around BC. But in the time being i want to make some money. There is talk that this summer is going to be a busy year for wildland fires. I was just wondering if anyone had any info on private crews in BC or anything like that. I have my S-100 and S-215 urban interface.

Hey Hally
I'm with the BC Forest Service .
I know of Madburn Enterprises which is a contract crew fron Nelson
http://www.madburn.com/
and there is Purcell Resources in Cranbrook http://www.purcellres.com/.
It might be a good idea to visit the fire base in Cranbrook and talk to them. You could probably put your name in for an EFF position or they might be able to give you the name of some contract crews.
From what I here the career depts in the lower mainland love experience with the forest service. I recommend trying applying next year for a position. You can get the application on the Forest Services website.
Good Luck
