Kelowna firefighter John Kelly -- whose own house burned down while he was fighting the Okanagan Mountain Park fire last summer -- was recognized on the weekend by Gov.-Gen. Adrienne Clarkson. Kelly, one of six recipients of Fire Services Exemplary Service medals for 20 years of service, was also cited by Kelowna's acting fire chief Sid Lebeau in front of Clarkson and about 200 others at the city's fire hall Saturday.
