KAMLOOPS, BC - The Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council have organized a benefit ball with all proceeds going to Jessica Desmazes. The Kamloops woman was a firefighter, paralyzed from the waist down last August from injuries sustained in a car crash.
Organizer Mike Doherty said Desmazes, who will be in attendance at the April 30 event, wants to get back on track and the Knights of Columbus wants to help. "She's hoping to go back and finish university."
The benefit's theme is Some Enchanted Evening, and will feature local bands including Rhythm Ramblers, and great food, Doherty added.
Tickets for the event, which begins at 6:15 p.m. at the OLPH Hall, run $25. Get tickets at World of Music, or by calling Doherty at 374-1810.
