A security guard was badly burned and millions of dollars in damage was caused by a major fire yesterday that destroyed a Longueuil garage where the Sûreté du Québec store some of their specialized vehicles. The SQ were quick to deny a fire-department official's claim the garage was also used to store explosives and ammunition. The building, on 2nd St. in the St. Hubert district, was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived after receiving calls about at least one explosion just before 5:30 a.m., said Daniel Dubois, a spokesperson for the Longueuil fire department.
