Stripping paramedics, rowdy ladies light up catwalk for charity
Fri May 13 2005
Out There - Jen Skerritt
JEN SKERRITT / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS
From stripping paramedics to rowdy ladies, Hope Couture lit up a catwalk at the Winnipeg Convention Centre to raise money for Ronald McDonald House, a chain of temporary out-of-town homes for families whose children are undergoing treatment for life-threatening diseases.
With fashions from Creative Wardrobe, Swank, Harry Rosen and Scerbo Formal Wear, here's a peek at who was there and who caused a scene on-stage...
Who was there
Ronald McDonald, Hot 103's Frankie Hollywood, Ace Burpee and Chrissy Troy, Nancy Gregory, Global's Derrick Oliver and Connie Tamoto, Quinten Campbell, Joanna Quail, Ross Rumberg, Murray Nagler, Jan Canell, Francis Maza, Samuel Maza, Brittany Campbell, Dmytri Kandiurin.
Spotted
The hottest summer fashions for ladies, including capris, colourful prints, jewelled bra straps and pinks, oranges, blues and lime greens. On the gentlemen's side of apparel, pinstripes and pastel-coloured shirts were seen on several models.
Somebody call 911!
The ladies are on fire! Winnipeg Paramedic Service's guest models kicked off the evening's show by shaking their booties and even tossing their shirts into the crowd. Later joined by Ronald McDonald himself, who was also sporting a "paramedic" T-shirt, it was hard to tell who was having more fun -- the paramedics or the ladies!
