I personally do not visit other fire station's when i'm on holiday's. Fire station's are the last thing on my mind. We do get a ton of visiting firefighters to our downtown halls that come to trade shirts and shoulder patch's though....

I visit at least one station in an area when on holiday, if possible. There is nobody more local that the local firefighters and the locals know everything. It's also interesting to see how many things are different and how much is exactly the same. ( Honest, Cap. I just sat down and the TV was already on; here have a coffee) I've visited Stations and Houses in South Carolina(civilian and military), Georgia, Hawaii, California, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Scotland and England. I have had some good meals and great chat. I recommend it, but I also like to see visitors in my Station almost anytime. Be Safe

Back when Canada was Playing the USA for gold in Hockey I was stuck in town later than I planned and didn't get back in time to watch the game :-(...... just found the nearest station I could and watched it with them... great fun.

I like to swing in every once and a while adn check out other halls. I liek it when guys stop by our hall and check it out and talk and what not. Its always good to hear from brothers from other cities, share stories and just meet new ppl that are interested in the same stuff. Kinda like being on Firehall.com

I like to visit fire stations on my holidays. There's always something pretty neat with each one.

I've been to stations in Belize and Sydney, Australia. The main station in Sydney had a tour about to start with fire fighters from LAFD when i showed up so I joined in.

Wow FMB7207, you are a well traveled and cultured firefighter. You must have a side job to be able to afford all those great trips. I was In Ireland last summer and managed to visit the station there. There are definatley alot of similarities, that's for sure. One thing I did notice, at the station I was at in Dublin anyways, is that there Rigs were crap!

If I have time I will stop by a station, havn't been to too many though, always pretty busy.

I noticed this thread Sometime ago and shrugged it off, However during my trip into the States I went into a Hall, said my hellos and chatted for a few minutes. Well, I was pretty happy that I ended up doing that, and they were excited themselves to see a Good ol' boy from Canada. Needless to say I enjoyed stopping in and wouldn't hesitate to do it again!

Me too Im the same. If there is one near where I am staying I'll stop by and say hey.Sometimes its just that.Once in Florida I ended up enjoying a lovely crableg dinner.

I wouldnt go out of my way to visit.I dont feel comfortable in a town unless I see a hockey rink and a funeral home.

Your just a stone's throw away from 4 Hall. 1475 W10th ave or 10th/Granville. Or just zip over the Granville street bridge and you can visit a Hall downtown. Just pop in to any of the halls, (just not around lunch) we get visitors regularly.......BC.........

PS: where you visiting from??

Stay safe !!

Ever had a visitor over stay his welcome?? We had a guy from a department that will remain nameless stay and ask question after question and tell every war story he could think of. We dropped numerous hints about ending the visit but no luck untill we were finally tapped out full company and even then he slowly exited the apparatus floor!!!!!..................BC.................... ...

The only other hall I have toured is the one that hosted a Fire and Life Safety committee meeting. It was well done and I appreciated it. Thanks to FH #9 in Saskatoon!

My hubby is too shy to go approach a hall so we never tour other people's halls. I guess if I want to go that badly, I had better arrange it myself.
