Has anyone used the Fire Fighter Professor? It is an online study guide for wanabe fire fighters like me. It looks good but I would love anyone's feedback. Their URL is http://www.firefighterprofessor.com.
Thanks.

Looked at the sample quiz, they should recheck some of their answers.

Question#2 re: reduced water flow to extinguish
When I took the sample question, it gave the answer to reduce weight and prevent structural collapse. I just retook the sample test and had the correct answer of reducing damage to contents and such.
Maybe just an error?

Smidty,
Thank you for following up with your post. We have not made any changes to the sample site for over 4 months and according to our records, no changes were made to the question in question. It is always possible that there was an error of some sort and I am very happy that you were able to see the correct answer. We very much appreciate your taking the time to make your post as well as offer your feedback.
Please feel free to email me if you ever have any other questions or concerns at jordan@firefighterprofessor.com.

I looked at the Firefighter Professor website, it seems a little pricy and you have a time limit which I don't like. If you have a FF exam prep book you can then use it whenever you want. I also tried all the sample questions and they were a little too easy. That website has not sold me on anything.
Take a look at fire etc. I know they offer good correspondance course. I know the lady that takes care of long distance learning there and she is a very nice lady.
Also Dalhousie University offers a fire leadership course of some kind. Check it out....
hope it helps

Hi,
I checked out the site and it seems like it is pretty good. I like the idea of working on-line but I do not know how popular it is with most firefighter's at this point. I know it will be the thing of the future because on-line training will be a department standard in the next ten years without a doubt.
Most guys want this type of study for free so I do not know how easy it will be to sell people on the service. I personally think content development and student tracking in this area will be the marketable aspect of on-line taining.
Sell it to the cities!

Dalhousie has a leadership course and a admin course for firefighting.. I have finished the leadership course and presently working on the admin portion. This would not help someone trying to become a firefighter and in fact you have to be one for a minimum of 3 years i believe before you can apply to the course.
