IQALUIT, Nunavut - Iqaluit's fire chief says his department needs more money for training, equipment and a bigger force of paid firefighters. Cory Chegwyn's comments come in the wake of questions about a fire that destroyed the Joamie elementary school on Friday. The school's sprinkler system seems to have failed during the fire. The territory's fire marshal has said he doesn't have enough staff to do proper inspections of fire prevention systems. The town's water reservoir became so low during the fire that firefighters had to turn off their hoses and wait until the reservoir had more water in it.
