MONTREAL - Four firefighters in LaSalle braved near-freezing water yesterday to rescue a woman after her car smashed through a fence and drove into an aqueduct. The accident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. The woman was driving her Volvo east along de la Vérendrye Blvd., near the corner of Bishop Power Blvd., when the vehicle suddenly veered toward a fence next to the roadway, said Constable Miguel Alston, a Montreal police spokesperson.
