I wrote the OS in Hammer Town this week & FAILED!?! I answered truthfully and honestly. But I'm not sure are they looking for superheros or crybaby's? I thought my answers were quite straight across the board. Also some of the questions are situations, are they asking you as a 5 year volly or Joe & Jane Public, with absolute no training. If so that's not fair, if you have 1-25 years volly exp. yea duh your going to answer questions a little different than Mr. or Mrs. No Experience. Oh man now i sound bitter. I going to go now a sulk in the corner.

Hey guys,
So Daveb is this just a feelin' you have or did someone tell you that you did not pass. If so does that make you feel nervous. (strongly agree or strongly disagree).

Kk, first of all... I'm going to state my bias. I think the test is "well intended" but that it's trying to measure something which is far too complex to measure. And that any minute angle which this test is off it's mark, will result in a dramatic miss of it's target when applied to the infinity of our minds. Sorry... turning a little poetic there.
But now for what they're looking for. First the situations, they are assuming you are a first aider, which the whole public should be. But that as a citizen you are NOT going to be a superhero, you would keep your ass outta the way, and let the pro's do their job. Even if you are a volly, or an off duty full time. In those situations they are expecting you to act like a citizen.
They are also looking for liers and humanity. What's that quote? "If you're not scared, you're crazy" It asks you if you're be nervous in a room where visibility is getting worse, you're finding it hard to breath... you better damn well be nervous. Now when it asks you whether or not you think your nervousness will affect your ability to make sound decisions is a different matter. It asks if your heart is racing, hyperventalating, stomach queezy. Those are ALL natural occurances, those are the medical signs of a body entering a state of "fight or flight" Your body is trying to get all the oxygen it can to the right muscles. So yeah... if you're human you better be doing that. If you're not doing that, then you're superman, who doesn't actually exist, and you're lieing.
So just be straight up. If you're nervous... then you're nervous. But we all know that we pull through when it counts.
Please rate how much BS is in my response on a 9 scale, maybe a 10 scale.

so in order to pass you have to say you feel everyone of the questions " I feel" questions is a yes.. I put 9s for 5 or so of them, like stress and all that. But not hybervent. It was my first OS test to. But just like the director said, everyone has failures. and 30 % of HFD is going to retire. so we all will have another chance very soon. also on the bright side Woodstock Brampton and I bet Toronto are all hiring.
Question for anyone else. I am on Brantfords list, does anyone know how many they interviewed and hired. I heard 5 out of 8 interviews. pretty shitty odds for the 117 that the list is made up of

I have heard that they called back some people that they interviewed from the spring hire. These people may have been in the last pool and this one.
