Did anyone attend the house fire on W.14th Ave the other day??

VANCOUVER, BC - Residents of a west-side apartment building near Oak Street were lucky to escape with their lives Tuesday morning after a distraught man attempted to kill his former girlfriend by torching her apartment. Shortly after a shattering explosion and fire ripped the building at 955 W. 14th just after 7:30 a.m., a man believed to be the arsonist was found dead less than two blocks away, an apparent suicide by hanging.

A young couple clutching their 10-month-old baby in a blanket were among several dozen people who fled the three-storey wooden building as flames licked up the back of the structure and smoke filled the hallways. The side wall of the second-floor suite where the arsonist apparently lit some kind of accelerant was blown out, and the floor of the apartment above it was burned away. A metal window-frame was blasted across the alley and shattered glass rained down on nearby condos.

Firefighters answering the three-alarm call quickly brought the blaze under control, but the rear of the 21-unit building was heavily damaged. The other suites received smoke and water damage.

I saw it on the news! Nasty looking fire! I was looking for ya Bestcoast, but I did not see anyone beating a cow bell!

We had a fire like that a couple of years ago only it was the girlfriend that was tick at hear boyfriend. When we arrived on scean we found out that they where junkies. the needles where all over the place.
