KAMLOOPS - While driving across the Overlander Bridge on your way to work this week you may notice a group of guys in bright orange and yellow clothing out on the ice along the Thompson River. They're members of the Kamloops Fire and Rescue ice water rescue team ? seven firefighters specially trained to retrieve people who fall into the cold bodies of water around Kamloops. "We haven't lost anybody through the ice here in Kamloops in the last 25 years, which is amazing considering the number of kids who play out there," says team leader Barry Foster. "But it's only a matter of time till something tragic does happen. That's why we formed the ice rescue team."
