Well I got a call friday from one of my captains asking if I was interested in a water rescue course over the weekend - one of the guys had bailed at the last minute. Never one to say no to training I jumped at the chance.

The course was great, put on by a company called TransCare out of Sask. We tried and tried to get the OFC to provide us with training but finally we got fed up. Speaking to some other fire departments I suspect they will be doing more training in Manitoba as the OFC seems to be steadily doing itself our of the training business.
Great course, great instuctors. I'd highly reccomend them if you're looking for water rescue training.

This morning though I have a funny rash aroud my face and neck. I'm not sure if I have some kind of swimmers itch from the algea in the lake our if I'm just irritated from the tight fitting Mustang suit. Either way I'm heading to the doc for some anti-itch.
