PINCHER CREEK, AB - Emergency services at Waterton Lakes National Park are to be provided by Cardston County following a five-year agreement signed last month. Jim Lambe, townsite and asset manager at the park, said that the new agreement should see significant improvements to the summer level of service, and include the provision of trained fire fighters and ambulance attendants stationed in Waterton.
During the winter service for structural fire will be provided from Cardston County Emergency Services in Cardston. Waterton Park had invited Pincher Creek Emergency Services to provide the service, however on reviewing the criteria Pincher Creek’s fire chief Kevin Weinberger said that Pincher was not in a position to respond to fire emergencies in the park.
