Hello! I am from Calgary and on a whim decided to see if there was a site for Calgary Firefighters. What a pleasant surprise it was to discover the chats as well.
My Uncle is a Lieutenant in Edmonton and has been a firefighter for about 25 years. I have always loved the profession but alas, my body was not built to join. I am only 5'2" and I also have Asthma. But, I can still admire from afar. Recently divorced, and going out again I've often wondered if Calgary has a social place for firefighters. Edmonton use to have what was called The Firefighters Club. I loved it there and miss it dearly. (even if I was too young to attend on a regular basis ;) )
