FIREFIGHTERS WORKSHOPS
The Strategies and Tactics Workshop was developed in 1997 by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs and the Ontario Fire Marshal. Each year the MNR and OAFC schedule workshops in various municipalities. To date upwards of 400 municipal fire service personnel have attended workshops across Ontario. This year workshops are being held in Severn Township in Simcoe County, The City of Kingston and the Township of White River in Algoma District.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE
The Workshop provides fire service personnel with the training and information that will assist them as an Incident Commander in suppressing wildland fires. This will result in safer and more efficient fire suppression operations.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Fire Service personnel who have experience on wildland fires and who will preferably function as Incident Commanders on wildland fires.
WORKSHOP FORMAT
The workshop is a combination of lectures and practical classroom exercises.
Structured to take place on weekends from Friday evening to early Sunday Afternoon.
