niagara college pre-fire pogram

has anyone heard of the program at Niagara college? is it worth taking, becuase it not NFPA approved? i have taken 3 night courses so far, but i don't want to waste any time, if it is not going to get me anywhere. any advice would be appreciated.

In my opinion, I wouldn't apply just for the fact that it's not endorsed by the OFM. They, however, might be in the process of endorsing it so you might want to ask them that. For the money your going to spend, your better off getting something that the fire departments are aware of. You won't be able to write the ontario firefighter test, nor will you be able to apply to departments which require the Pre-Service program to apply. I've heard that all departments might one day require you to have the endorsed program to apply. That was the original plan but it looks like it won't come into effect for at least a couple more years.
My opinion is kind of biased being in the Pre-Service but I hope this helps. In the end, I guess any education in the field is good to have.
