How often and what type of service or maintenance do your BA's receive?

All of our BA's are checked twice a month (2 practices divided by two sqads) and after each use. We check that the bottle is full, and connections, that the straps are pulled out as far as they go so the next guy doesnt struggle trying to put BA on. We check that pressure gauge is not broken, that the bottle is secured, and any usual wear and tear that might catch your eye. We also inspect all masks. We also have four personal on the department who take a cerified SCBA course every 2 years. They are the guys who make any repairs if any are found. Our chief decides when equipment has been used to the end of its life, and it is replaced as needed.
