ROSSLAND, B.C. (CP) - Bagpipes wailed as more than 500 people gathered to remember the pilot of a air tanker killed with another man when the plane crashed fighting a forest fire. Ian MacKay, 41, of Rossland, died along with his co-pilot, Eric Ebert, 36, of Toronto, last week when their four-engine Lockheed Electra exploded after hitting the ground. MacKay was married and the father of four children ranging in age from eight to 15 years. "I've got his strength," the pilot's wife, Laura MacKay, told friends and family gathered at the memorial service in Rossland, about 400 kilometres east of Vancouver.
