Question about hiring standards in Monteal.

Hi everyone. I'm new here and presently going through the hiring process in Ottawa. I am hoping beyond hope to be sucessful here (I have passed all of the required tests and am now waiting for an interview).
I am wondering if the hiring requirements are the same in Montreal, if anyone knows. Also, I am not bilingual, so of course that would put a little crimp into things, so I was wondering if there is anyone here from the West Island (where it is prodominently English) who could tell me if it is imperative to be French in this area.

Unfortunately I know that the Montreal FD prides themselves on being a bilingual department. But never hurts to try right?

Thanks Fablish! I am slowly but surely working on my bilingualism.. living in Ottawa it is becoming a must... So far I am working solely on getting hired here in Ottawa. It is my number one goal and priority right now!!!

I'll work on Montreal if/when the option to move there comes up! Always like to know there's more options!
