Fire officials are offering the first cautious words of optimism in the fight against an out-of-control forest fire that threatens five communities in southwestern Alberta. On the day backcountry enthusiasts learned they will be banned from a 140,000-hectare track of wilderness south of Blairmore, officials say they now believe the 11,500-hectare-plus blaze was sparked in an area campground.
