VERMILION, AB - Some people may know Don Henry as president of the Vermilion Legion. Some may know he teaches heavy duty mechanics at Lakeland College. But until now only a select few people knew Henry was an author.
“I haven’t told many people because I guess I’m just shy about it. I didn’t think people would believe me anyway,” said Henry. Henry's first book, Fire Department Pumping Apparatus Maintenance, is a 300 page manual that discusses anything and everything to do with fire truck maintenance.
"It covers all the principals. Why we have water issues, oil and lubricants, the unique maintenance problems for fire apparatus, etc.," said Henry. As the only book on the market of its kind, Henry's book is considered the bible of fire truck maintenance. But don’ tell Henry he’s a saint for writing it.
