A fire that destroyed an Oak Bay house has been traced to four Grade 8 students who were experimenting with gasoline in the basement. The gasoline caught fire. "The fire took off on them," said Oak Bay Police Sgt. Ron Coull. "They tried to put it out instantly but they couldn't find the fire extinguisher. So they put water on a gasoline fire, something you're not supposed to do."
