Leamington police dispatchers ignored a plea to send help for a suicidal person who was later found dead, put a woman on hold as she reported a burglary in progress and sent fire trucks to a wrong address, a Ministry of Labour investigation has found. The five-month investigation uncovered "hundreds" of emergency-response delays at the dispatch centre, which was described in a July 3 ministry report as seriously understaffed.
