EDMONTON - Recent upgrades to a downtown area rooming house gave residents a chance to escape from an early morning fire, an official with the city's Safe Housing project which had ordered the improvements, said Wednesday. "Good on the firefighters and good on the owner for fixing it up on our request," said Hal Wright, chief safety codes officer for the safe housing project.
