Hi,
I'm new to firehall, but would like to make a comment on volly departments and even departments in smaller towns that may not be strictly volunteer. I think the internet is a great place to meet like minded people and I'm thrilled to have come across a Canadian site..finally! However, I did notice that while I was scrolling the resources over to the left of the page and clicked on deparments...there weren't a whole lot of websites or departments even named that didn't belong to the larger urban areas. So come on folks..if you don't see your department listed there..then send in the urls or information and lets fill the list up!

msvolly,

If you could tell me how this is done (posting our site) you would have one more volly site.

sorry guys, the "Suggest a Link" was accidentally removed when the Resource Link box was updated. You can now submit the location of your department page (or any other fire related link) under the "Resource Links" section on the left menu of the main site. If your department does not currently have a website, you can either mail or email us your information & pictures and we will create and host your page here on Firehall.com.

Our department, the Parskville Volunteer Fire Department, has a new web site. It can be accessed at www.pvfd.ca. The site is still under development, but some areas can be accessed, including pictures of all our current apparatus. I am sure our site administrator has plans to link the site up with firehall.com. Hope everyone enjoys. :p LTPVFD

I do not see the resource links section you refer to, has it changed again. Please post location and I will add our station to your list.

You can suggest links through the "Contact Us" (http://firehall.com/contact.php) link on the main sidebar.

I checked out your website and thought it was really cool. I really like the pager test. I've never seen that before. Very good idea. If you don't mind I would like to use that idea for our new website that is still being devolped.

Hi Dave !!

Glad you liked our site. Go ahead and use the pager test
idea. I'm not sure how it was incorporated into the site, but if you check with the site administrator, and I'm sure he can give you directions. I believe his e-mail address is sean@seanwood.com.

Stay safe !!

LTPVFD, I liked the website set-up. I always like checking out the apparatus pictures...kind of a tire biter!

Here is the official district website for Squamish Fire Rescue, it is a little dry but our former website was changed by the district last year. Oh well this is all we have now. You must access all the info from the list on the left side of the screen.

Hey D&E, Yes I am still around waiting for the USAR call....I am sure they are waiting for me to go to bed before calling
anywho....what I did for our website is utilized the free space that I get at home for our internet account. Most providers give free space to build a site or do whatever you want with! Check with them. Next I went to network solutions.com and purchased a .com (www.melitafire.com) name and web forwarding (about $60US I think) downloaded an ftp program and off to the races! Hope this helps somewhat!
If my phone doesn't ring...I'll check in tomorrow :)

I use www.1and1.com and they are pretty cheap and reliable. I have 4 domains so far and no complaints. I haven't the slightest idea where they're located...but it works, its reliable and it doesn't cost a lot. And they've got good support.

Thanks for some of the ideas guys. Along with what I found and how you all started, will be able to go to the association and start building from there. Here is what we got so far on a free site www.freewebs.com/psffa check it out.
