I saw the same type of thing done on the local news and it's true, many kids can sleep through anything.. there is a smoke detector directly outside my daughter's bedroom door, and with the door open not even two hours after she fell asleep, the smoke alarm did not make her budge an inch. (nothing was on fire, my smoke alarms go off when I use the oven) I even let the smoke alarm go for a moment and watched her... nothing... she sleeps like a log. That's pretty scary.
