Hey I have been looking into the different types of courses I can take. I found a bunch at the following link:
http://www.co.somerset.nj.us/_trainingacademy/fire-courses.html But the only thing is what are the most useful courses? I have been reading this forum aswell and is a paramedic degree useful?
The course i am getting is 1001 standard with Level I & II Firefighting certification. It also give me knowlege in Hazardous Materials Operations (NFPA 472) and First Respose Training.
Any tips or ideas guys?
Thanks guys!

You are obviously in the States? It really depends where you want to work and what requirements they have. The States is totally different than Canada. Alot of jurisdictions require paramedic training. THere is nothing wrong with education, it will always open the door and make you more desirable as a candidate that doesnt have the same level of training as you.

Haha theres nooo way i am from the states! I am from the Ottawa Area originally but have been in Moncton, NB for the last few years. Say if i wanted to do Airport Firefighting, maybe even forest Fire Fighting out west or even just being a regular Fireman is there anything special i should learn? Would I be fine with the 1 firefighting course i am getting or is there anything else that would really help me along the way? You are absolutly right about learning new things opens doors but is there anything in specific?
