Hey everyone I just joined now so I thought that I would say hello!! I am Dawn and I am with the Malaspina Volunteer fire dept. I just wanted to say hello and see how this worked! and I was also wondering if there were many other girls on the site :)

Well your looking at another female FF and welcome to Firehall.

Been FF'ing for 2 1/2 years now and loving every minute of it. I hope your experiences will be just as positive.

Good to see the ladies are getting involved, we have a woman firefighter in our station, and i trust her with my life, she is just one of the guys, and can hold her own when it comes to working hard, i have had the pleasure of working side by side and have never once questioned her judgement. I,m happy to see that more women are getting involved, and i have to say good for you and congrats on being among the select few..... keep safe!!!

Well i just would like to say welcome aboard. Our Dept. has 2 ladies and i do trust them both. So anyways please enjoy all the training and the rewards are just up lifting.

The lady in our department is not only a firefighter, but one of our training officers, too :) Damned good firefighter and I've learned a *lot* from her in my year or so on the department so far - so yeah, there are lots more women in firefighting these days than there were, say, twenty years ago.

Welcome Firechix, good on you! We have one lady in our dept. as well and she is very capable too. Bring on the ladies!

I signed up last week, welcome aboard, so far I've really enjoyed this site. As for Women in Musquash we have quite a few, however only 2 of them are Front line, and 1 of them is an awesome fire fighter, she surprises me all the time because she's a tiny little thing, but hey that just goes to show you can't judge a book by it's cover right?!
