Question. I am just starting to do my moduals through the OFM, once I have completed all of them what does this give me for credentials. Is doing this modual course the same as doing pre-service? I know at the end of it if I sucessfully complete the mod's and pass the test I get a certificate. Of what though? Sorry for the stupid question, I'm just not getting any answers from anybody else.

From what i have been told, once your done all the modules and homework. you could write the test, at the OFC and get a Firefighters certificate..... Your learning from some of the best up there....
Wish more of the guys were willing to attend

I think Ontario is a little more flexible with qualifications. There is no real concrete standard yet.It really boils down to what each indvidual dept will accept.

In a larger reqruitment you will find everything from Captain certificate holder to the guy who just figgered he would apply and has nothing more than the bare minimum.
